What changes have you had to make with COVID- 19?

I am working from home at a job I was just starting to learn before the quarantine. I cannot go into the grocery store or any store due to being high risk and having a high risk child.  We haven’t seen my parents in 7 weeks.

The kids are homeschooling now, and Luke’s schedule with his dad has changed so I have him for a week and Dad has him for a week to cut down on the back and forth.  Alyson likes online school but she needs extra assistance to complete her work.

I am more stressed now than I was before.  My school saw that I was not going to finish the work needed for this semester and they had me withdraw from classes on the last day rather than fail the semester.  I am trying those classes again next semester with the hope things will mostly be back to normal.

Alyson is turning 16 May 12. I have been planning a surprise birthday drive by and zoom party for her. She’s pretty disappointed and the DMV is closed so she won’t be getting her permit for a while.

What has helped you stay sane during the quarantine?

Relaxing baths and sleep.  Having children that are pretty independent when it comes to life skills is also helpful.  Being able to chat with my family through Facebook has been great.

Have you picked up any new hobbies since quarantine started?

Who has time for new hobbies?

What is one thing your child/children enjoy about being home from school? What about you as a parent?

Alyson loves to sleep.  She is sleeping and then doing school work.  She also enjoys the online classes.

Luke likes having the flexibility of when he can do his work and what he has to do.

As a parent I like all of us being here.  We have more cuddle time, more movie nights and more family time in general.

What have you learned in your time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life?

I’m not away from hustle and bustle.  It just moved inside my house.  I have learned that many of my friends are more concerned about their right to “freedom” than they care about other people’s health.

What are you and your family most looking forward to when quarantine is over?

Being able to plan our wedding and look for a house!

Give us your best joke!

Knock! Knock!

Who’s There?

Lettuce.

Lettuce Who?

Lettuce in and you’ll find out!
